  I come here annually for the Rolex Grand-Am race and it's a fun track for viewing and walking around. Please note that it's a dusty track and the wind chill is brisk (standard for coastal Nor Cal), so think comfortable, closed toe shoes and layering with a wind breaker. The famous corkscrew turn is my favorite, plus they've got beverages, snacks, and potties up at that point (the track has elevation, hence my mention about shoes). There are fun activities for kids surrounding the races and the city is quick a 10 min drive away.
  
  While watching the race, there is a very tall display for driver positions that is easily viewable and helpful when rooting on your favorite team (ahem, Gainsco #99).
  
  This upcoming year I will be camping. While camping transactions are completed via telephone only, the people were nice, hassle-free, and got me a great spot. Camping prices are very reasonable. I landed a very picturesque site in the Grand Prix section that is fairly private, yet close to the track for viewing. Staying an extra night with the county will, also, be a breeze (you just stay at your site and pay on your way out). I would recommend the experience, especially if you're into racing.
